Centers for South and Southeast Asia, The University of Michigan

The University of Michigan's Centers for South and Southeast Asian Studies were formally constituted in 1961 and soon thereafter became national centers for language training and area-related studies and research. Since then, the Center has grown to be one of the largest in the U.S., with over fifty faculty associates representing seventeen University departments and professional schools.
